European Consortium for Political Research (Ecpr)
Monash, through the efforts of the School of Political and Social Inquiry, is now an associate member of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR), which carries a number of benefits, including a waiver of the registration fee for conference attendance. The following information on two concurrent conferences run through the ECPR, the ECPR General Conference and the ECPR 4th Pan-European International Relations Conference, contains details which will be of interest not only politics/ IR folk but also sociologists.

These conferences will be of interest to both staff and postgraduate students.
Ecpr 2001 & 4th Pan-European International Relations Conference: Call for Papers
As many of you already know, the ECPR will hold its first general conference from 6-8 September, 2001 at the University of Kent at Canterbury, U.K. It will join forces with the ECPR 's Standing Group on International Relations, which will hold its 4th Pan-European Conference immediately after, from 8-10 September.
The two conferences will run independently, but will have an overlapping day on Saturday, 8 September, with panel sessions of interest to both general political scientists and international relations specialists on this day.
Both conferences will:
- provide an open academic forum for giving and receiving papers
- have a varied and interesting 'fringe' element of films and exhibitions
- have an exciting social programme
