Dr Dennis Woodward is currently a Senior Lecturer in Politics and the Arts Campus Coordinator for Caulfield campus. He completed both his undergraduate ( BA Hons 1973) and postgraduate studies ( PhD 1980) at Flinders University of South Australia where he tutored while working part-time on his PhD which was on Chinese Politics.

Biography
Dennis spent three years as a Research Fellow at the Contemporary China Centre in the Research School of Asian and Pacific Studies at the Australian National University before moving to take up a position at what was then Chisholm Institute of Technology in 1983. He became part of the Monash University Politics department in 1990 after the merger of the two institutions.
Research
Dr Woodward's research interests span both the fields of Chinese and Australian Politics. Within these broad areas he is particularly interested in Chinese political economy and the role of China's People's Liberation Army; Australian political economy; and Australian party and electoral politics. He has supervised PhD, MA and Honours theses in all these areas.
