About Postcolonial Writing Research Unit

We are a world leader in the successful melding of traditional reading practices and structures with creative writing. Through rigorous academic pursuits, we promote critical engagement as an exercise that is as creative as it is scholarly.

Our research unit defines postcolonial as the period from first European colonisation until the present day, and focuses on a wide range of colonised countries and literary texts.

Current areas of interest include Africa, Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, the Pacific, Sri Lanka, South East Asia, and the West Indies.
