Dr Sayed Khatab
Sayed Khatab is a research fellow at the Global Terrorism Research Centre. His research interests include: the Middle East, Islamic political thought, fundamentalism, theory of government, Islamic law and politics, Democracy in Islam, human rights, and counter-terrorism related issues. Among his recent publications are: The Power of Sovereignty: The Political and Ideological Philosophy of Sayyid Qutb (Routledge, 2006); The Political Thought of Sayyid Qutb: The Theory of Jahiliyyah (Routledge, 2006); Democracy in Islam (with G. D. Bouma), Routledge (2007). His current research projects are 'The Theological and Ideological Bases of al-Qa' ida's Political Tactics', and 'The Political Theory beyond the Canon'.
