The Rise and Fall of Marvellous Melbourne
Nearly 300 people from the School of Historical Studies, alumni, community members, business and government representatives attended an event in the Royal Exhibition Buildings marking the re-launch of the new edition of Professor Graeme Davison's book The Rise and Fall of Marvellous Melbourne.
Marvellous Melbourne, first published in 1978, has become a classic text for anyone studying Australian history and the School of Historical Studies was delighted to take the opportunity to invite members of the Monash history alumni to join them in celebrating Graeme's achievement. This event was the first of what hopefully will be a series of occasions the School of Historical Studies will hold to rekindle and maintain associations with past staff and students.
