11.5 Monash Postgraduate Association (Mpa)
The Monash Postgraduate Association (MPA) is the representative body for all postgraduates, both coursework and research, at Monash University; all students are automatically members of the MPA, including candidates who are also academic staff.
The Association aims to serve the interests and welfare of postgraduates by directing its activities and projects towards their specific needs. Its functions are representation, advice and advocacy, policy development, information and communication, provision of academic and social functions. MPA is also affiliated with the national body, the Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations (CAPA).
There are two Arts Faculty research postgraduate representatives, nominated by MPA: one on the Arts Faculty Board and one on the Faculty of Arts, Arts Research Graduate School Committee.
