Chapter 3: Admission to Candidature

3.2 Initial enrolment

Successful applicants for doctoral and masters programs in the Faculty of Arts are admitted to probationary candidature.

Successful applicants are sent an offer letter outlining the broad program details and the enrolment process. Applicants for internal candidature are required to come to campus to complete the enrolment process. Applicants for external candidature will be sent instructions for an off-site enrolment process.

Masters candidates finalise their enrolment through the Arts Research Graduate School. The Arts Research Graduate School is located at Building 11, W205 and can be contacted at arts-args@monash.edu

PhD candidates finalise their enrolment through Monash Research Graduate School on Clayton campus.

Once enrolled in their research degree, candidates can obtain a student ID card from the Student Services. Students are required to bring a photo ID to obtain the student ID card.  The student card is required for use in the library and for other university services, including 24-hour access to the Research Graduate Centre or Menzies Building.
