Elton PhD Scholarship in Jewish Studies

This scholarship was donated in 2007 by Zyga and Diana Elton, generous supporters of the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation. It was their wish to provide an opportunity for a graduate student to undertake advanced research in a field of Jewish Studies

Eligibility

The scholarship is available to Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents and international applicants. 

Only H1 or H1 equivalent applicants will be considered for this scholarship. Applicants holding the following qualifications are automatically classed as H1:

  • Australian/New Zealand bachelors degree with first class honours
  • Australian/New Zealand research masters preliminary degree formally graded at H1 level
  • Australian/New Zealand research masters degree formally graded at H1 level

Applicants who do not hold one of these qualifications may be eligible if their qualifications and/or research experience are deemed 'H1 Equivalent'.

The scholarship is available to applicants who are currently undertaking or proposing to undertake a PhD in any area of Jewish Studies.

How to Apply

The online scholarship application form will be available from 1 August 2009 and close at midnight (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on 31 October 2009.

Applicants who complete the online scholarship application form will be automatically considered for all postgraduate research scholarships for which they are eligible in the Faculty of Arts at Monash University.

The successful applicants will be notified by post in December 2009.
