Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA)
PRIA is the peak body for public relations and communication professionals in Australia. PRIA represents and provides professional support and recognition to 3000 individual practitioners and more than 150 consultancies across the States and Territories.
Since 1949 it has been their role to:
- promote and enhance the profession and its status to the broader community throughout Australia
- enforce their principles and ethical standards
- represent public relations practitioners in the best interests of the profession
The PRIA are adamant about maintaining high ethical standards. All members are required to make a commitment to a stringent Code of Ethics that is governed by a senior group of practitioners known as the College of Fellows.
Consultancy members are abound by an additional code of Practice which covers client relations, fees and income, and general practice.
PRIA works hard at ensuring the high standards of professional practice in the public relations and communications industry in Australia.
