Guidelines for SAMSS Conference and Research Project Grants
Tenured and fixed term staff (0.4 EFT and above) are eligible to apply for SAMSS Research Grants.
Applications will not be processed until all documentation specified on the form has been supplied, signed and finalized;
Retrospective Applications will not be processed;
SAMSS Research Grants will not normally cover teaching relief;
The outcomes of all previous SAMSS grants within the last three years will be taken into account with particular attention given to DEEWR definitions.
Staff are eligible to receive a maximum of $3,000 from the SAMSS Research Committee in any calendar year, of which $1,000 maximum may be for a SAMSS domestic conference grant and a maximum of $2,000 for an international conference grant.
Applications must indicate DEEWR outcomes and must specify intended placement of refereed publication;
Funding will not be released until all relevant forms (eg leave, travel plans) have been submitted.
Research Grant funds must be expended within twelve months of award of grant.
Applicants must submit a grant report within one month of conference attendance or completion of research.
