Associate Professor Naomi White has a BA (Melb), and and MSc and PhD (Syracuse).
Naomi's research interests span several areas, including youth and children's issues, education, the family, ethnicity and the Holocaust. In addition to numerous articles in these areas, she is the author of several books: School Matters: The Preshil Alternative to Education(1995),From Darkness to Light: Surviving the Holocaust(1988) and Immigrants and the Media: Case Studies in Newspaper Reporting(1983).
Naomi currently teaches Children and Society (SCY2/3251), Social Psychology (SCY2/3400) and Social Research Methods (SCY2/3261). This year Naomi will also be teaching a new subject, The Unconscious in Social Life (SCY2/3651). This subject explores the way processes of which we are largely unaware affect the way we operate in social situations. It will specifically focus on how people act at work.
Naomi specialises in qualitative research, and enjoys supervising honours and post-graduate students in a range of areas.
