Research Interests

Current Research Projects

My current research focuses on a couple of projects in the area of medical discourse, intercultural and cross-cultural communication in collaboration with national and international colleagues (further information).

Since my PhD completion in the area of doctor-patient communication and the publication of a book and a series of articles in the field (further information). I have considerably widened my research on medical discourse and applications of linguistic research to medical training.

My interest in the development of discourse analysis in Australia has led to the organization of annual Discourse Symposia (further information). The symposia have provided a great opportunity to participants to collaborate in joint-projects and publications.

The Symposia are open to any colleague in the area of linguistics, psychology, anthropology, sociology, history and education. We also welcome students and any other interested individual.
