Biography
Weiwen Fu received his B.A. and M.A. degree in English language and literature from University of International Relations in Beijing in 1993 and 1995. He is currently pursuing his PhD study in comparative literature and cultural studies at Monash University.
Weiwen has extensive experience of teaching translation/interpreting and English as a foreign language courses in Australia and overseas. He used to be a senior lecturer teaching English as a foreign language at University of International Relations and Xiamen University in China. He was also a visiting scholar in England from 1999 to 2000. He has been teaching NAATI approved translation/interpreting courses in Australia since 2006.
Weiwen has wide professional experience as a translator and interpreter. Working for the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation in China, he was involved in a wide range of translation and interpreting projects in the United States, Canada, Britain, Germany, France and many other countries in Europe. He received his NAATI accreditation as a professional translator and interpreter in the languages of English and Chinese, both directions.
Research interests
Research interests include Chinese literature and culture, comparative literature, and cross-cultural issues in translation.
