About AWGSA
AWGSA is the peak body for Women's and Gender Studies in Australia. Here you will find information about our Executive Committee, our bi-annual conferences and our new AWGSA PhD prize which will be awarded for the first time in 2010. You can also learn something about the history of the organization.
Established in 1989 (and formerly known as the Australian Women's Studies Association), AWGSA aims to:
- promote and coordinate the teaching, study and research of Women's Studies and Gender Studies in Australia
- be a national voice on women's issues
- foster links with other organizations and international associations
