Travel from Melbourne Airport to City

Travel by taxi from Melbourne Airport to the city centre takes around 30 minutes and costs approximately AUD $50.00. Taxi ranks are located outside arrivals of international and domestic terminals.

Fare: Adult return: $24; Adult one way $15
This service is express from Melbourne airport to Melbourne City (where it stops at Southern Cross Station which is at the end of Collins Street). It departs every 10-15 minutes and takes approximately 20 minutes from airport to the city. It is located kerbside at arrivals for international and domestic flights.
Tickets can be purchased online or at Melbourne Airport Terminal T1 and T3.
A free hotel shuttle service is available at Southern Cross Station. If catching this service from your hotel, allow one hour between hotel pickup time and reaching Melbourne airport.
Travel Around Melbourne
Travelling by trams is arguably the quickest and easiest means of travel via public transport around the central business district and nearby dining precincts (eg. Carlton, North Fitzroy).

Trams that go along Collins Street are nos. 31, 109, and 112. Delegates may wish to take the tram from recommended hotel accommodation (Oaks on Collins) to the Monash Conference Centre.
You can buy tickets on the trams themselves (although be advised that machines only take coins) or online. For travel within central Melbourne, the following tickets are recommended:
City Saver (Single journey on tram): Adult $2.40; Concession $1.30
Daily zone 1 (for all-day travel & multiple use): Adult $6.30; Concession $3.30

Parking Information for Monash conference centre
Discount parking is available at Wilson Parking, 32 Flinders Street ONLY (on the left hand side, not the Sofitel): enter via Flinders Lane or Flinders Street
- Monday – Friday $11 per day
- Monday – Friday $7 per evening
- Weekend - $7 flat rate
Delegates must present their parking tickets to Monash Conference Centre staff for validation to receive discounted rates.
