Gender Studies
1st year sequence:
A 1st year sequence in Gender Studies consists of GND1010 and any other 1st year Arts unit.
Minor sequence:
Students wishing to complete a minor in Gender Studies take 24 points of Gender Studies units. They can do this in two ways:
A minor from 1st to 2nd year is completed by taking first sequence of 12 points comprising GND1010 (6 points) and any other 6-point 1st year unit, which for the purpose of this major, is considered to be a 1st year sequence in Gender Studies. At 2nd year they take units to the value of 12 points: GND2010 (6 points) and GND2050 (6 points).
A minor from 2nd to 3rd year comprises two 6-point units at 2nd year (e.g. GND2010 and GND2050), and either one 12-point unit (GND3020) or two 6-point units (from GND3080, GND3030, GND2040, CRI3140) at 3rd year.
Major sequence:
Students completing a major in Gender Studies will complete 48 points comprising 36 points of core Gender Studies units and 12 additional points. The first year sequence of 12 points comprises GND1010 (6 points) plus any other first year unit (6 points) which for the purpose of this major, is considered to be a first year sequence in Gender Studies. Compulsory core units are GND2010/3010 Contemporary Feminist Theory (6 points) and GND2050/GND3050 Sex, Science and the Body (6 points) which can be taken at either second or third year level.
